Cyber Care

On 10 January 2014, CyberCare together with Pandawas Academy, initiated a movement to gather like-minded individuals from near and far to “give as much as they can, when they can, and how they can” for the refugee communities living in Malaysia.

What began as a non-committal form of charity has since matured into a weekly Tutor-A-Refugee-Child public programme, drawing in new partners including United Learning Center (ULC), Chin Student Organisation (CSO) and GGM Community Learning Centre for Refugees (GGM). Today, an average of 40 new faces join the programme each week, giving back alongside many returning volunteers, bringing the number of registered volunteers to over 2000.

The groups, known collectively as “Voice of Refugee”, continue to this day to bring resources and aid to refugee schools and refugees in need.

Voice of Refugee (VOR) works exclusively through social media to connect like-minded volunteers with refugees in need. Currently, VOR serves several locations within Selangor and around the Klang Valley.

If you are interested to serve as a volunteer, please send in a “friend request” to the Let’s Tutor A Refugee Child Facebook page. Alternatively, you may email either Mok (mok@cybercare.org.my) or Jessica (jessica@cybercare.org.my) for more information on how you can support the refugee communities living in Malaysia.

We look forward to hearing from you!
